Love their chicken fried rice and egg rolls always fresh and delicious

I don't often leave a review for a business unless our experience is really bad or really good. Well, China Star is very good !
We've made 4 family sized purchases these last few months and have been
pleasantly surprised.
Here's what we've noticed. The dinner shrimp are much larger and more numerous than the competition, the beef is tender and not chewy, and the chicken has a nice texture and is not rubbery like other places...
The portions are generous and they even include cardboard squares in your to-go bags to keep your bagged dinners stable. A nice detail for sure. China Star is MUCH better than that other place in Villa Park also on Roosevelt.

Food is great but I ordered with door dash who charged 6.99 delivery, $4.50 service and $4.00 tip. $16.00 for a $19.00 order. Never use door dash !

This place has become my go-to chinese place! It is one of the best that I have tried in the area. I always cannot eat all the food I order and all the food is still awesome the next day once warmed up.

We received their menu in the mail about a week ago. Usually I try and throw away these type of delivery menus before my husband gets his hands on them because I'm trying to avoid ordering in.

We ordered Dinner for 2 for $22.95! Including tip & delivery/tax fees, I think it may have come out to $32-ish. We got so much food! Egg Drop Soup excellent, 2 egg rolls excellent, Crab Rangoon good (that's never been my thing but it comes with the meal), Chicken Fried Rice EXCELLENT & plentiful, Chicken Kow (plain chicken & water chestnuts & brocolli & snap or snow peas, and Kung Pao Beef extra spicy (my husband had asked for red chilli peppers but we're not included in his dish and was left disappointed).

Due to this review being made by yours truly, I rate China Star a full, well-deserved 5 Stars! The fortune cookies and sauce packets accented the meal perfectly.

I am a big Chinese food fan! THis is a great place to get everything you want. great meal deals. Fast service!

Good take out Chinese place. Big portions, especially for the lunch combo. The general tso's chicken is all white meat, crispy and not too heavy on the breading. If you want it spicy, I'd recommend asking for extra spicy. My default place in the Oak Brook area for quick Chinese food.

I love this place! People will cry because its next to a liquor store (technically its next to a pizza place), but that is irrelevant. This place is great, the atmosphere is not special but who cares. The food is always, always very hot and fresh. The chicken for sweet and sour chicken is always crispy and hot and they give you tons of rice. They also give you enough of their delicious sauce to keep for months. Very reasonably priced, was 7$ for large dinner dish. Easily the best if not one of the best places in Lombard/Villa Park

We work nearby and order from China Star at least once a week. I am a big fan of the General Tso chicken and all my co workers love their shrimp dishes. Never had a problem there.

I don't understand how this place has such bad ratings. I never had a problem with their food or service. The dining area is divey but their vegetable chop suey and vegetable fried rice are both really good and reasonably priced ! I wish they weren't stingy with their sauces though :/

I have had this before, and I was not impressed. However, I think that it just depends on what you order. Tonight it was superb! The pot stickers were very good, and the vegetable egg rolls are now a preferred choice for me. The portions were nice, and the woman behind the counter was very pleasant. I also ordered szechuan green beans, which was also excellent. Everything was very fresh!

So, we really like China Star. It's the only place in the area that has passed the test thus far. Granted, we've only tried three places... but this is the only one out of the three we'd consider going to again. So, they have that going for them.
The chicken (general tsao's... if that is spelled close to correctly you know what I mean...) is usually pretty darn good. The pot stickers are just okay, but, they're edible and at this point that's all I'm asking for from a chinese take out place around Lombard. The food has not ever made us ill, and we were able to finish our dinners, so we'll be back.

Great service! Very fast and friendly. They accommodated my additions to the entree I ordered. Fresh ingredients and very flavorful.

This place recently reopened as Thai takeout and I'm very happy to have a fast and relatively inexpensive Thai option so close to home. I loved the green curry.
